Women's Retreat

September 19, 20, and 21: Canonicus Conference Center, Exeter RI

For I know that my redeemer lives and that at the last he shall stand upon the earth.

2008 Women's Retreat: September 19-21, Canonicus Conference Center, Exeter, RI

Every year the women's retreat proves to be a weekend that God uses to draw us into a stronger relationship with Himself and with each other.  It is a time set apart, a Sabbath, for worship, learning, and resting.

This year, we're focusing on a subject that is common to our experience, but sometimes difficult to reconcile with our faith – suffering.  We'll ask questions like, "Does God intend suffering?" and, "Is there any meaning in my suffering?"  We'll look at the stories of suffering in the lives of Joseph, Hannah, Naomi, Leah, David, Mary, and Stephen.  We'll also consider how to respond to suffering – our own and one another's.

Plan to join us.  The cost for the retreat is $160.00.  This includes two nights lodging and six meals.  Payment is due in full by August 31st. Se Sandy Fisher for details. Carpooling is available. Special needs can usually be accommodated. If you are not able to be away overnight, you are welcome to join us on Saturday. Several have expressed interest in the Saturday only option so you may be able to share a ride.

Last thought. The Bible tells us that we all bring something special to the body of Christ. Your presence would be a gift to all of us. Think about it!

“For I know that my redeemer lives and that at the last he shall stand upon the earth.”

We welcome you to gather with us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. If we can be of any help, let us know.
