The soil analysis is an essential tool to obtain the best yields while respecting the environment and the application of reasoned manure has become an environmental imperative (groundwater protection), legal (Nitrates Directive, the conditionality of the PAC) and economic (fertilization cost management).
In accordance with the Code of Good Agricultural Practices, the activities of the Environmental Quality Laboratory make it possible to better manage the soil capital of Walloon Brabant (located in a vulnerable zone) by carrying out land analyzes. You can visit cbr testing labs and come up with the solutions now.
The best time to do a soil test is at the end of the winter, before applying fertilizer or other amendments in order to better assess the fertility of your plots. We advise you, therefore, suitable mineral fertilization, taking into account the winter leaching, and the mineralization of the organic matter coming from the farm effluents applied. In an ongoing effort to maintain the quality of its analytical services, the Soil Chemistry and Soil Physics laboratories participate in the work of the “Mineral Soil” and “Nitrate” chains of the Réquasud network as well as the BIPEA circular tests.
The Product Quality Lab
By-products, it is understood of the materials intervening in the agricultural exploitation and whose knowledge of the quality allows a better valorization such as the roughage produced on the farm food value, mineral composition, success of the ensilage, the amendments organic and limestone agronomic value, well water for agricultural and horticultural use physicochemical analyzes.
Forage analyzes allow the breeder:
- To appreciate correctly the technological value and the mineral richness of the fodder produced on the farm;
- Best manage its food costs and the diversity of its forage stock;
- To adequately supplement the ration with concentrated foods; Technical note: “Analysis of farm fodder.”
The organic amendment analyzes make it possible to integrate, in the planned manure plans, the contributions due to the mineralization of the organic materials applied on the agricultural grounds and fits perfectly in the program of control of the nitrogen pollution of agricultural origin developed by the Walloon Region and in compliance with the Nitrates Directive whose importance in Walloon Brabant is considerable given its status as a vulnerable zone.
You will find the details of the analyzes and their prices in the sampling cards, which you can download below and which must accompany the samples deposited or sent to the laboratory. In charge of these analyzes, the Product Quality Laboratory is involved in the work of the “Infrared” and “Mineral products” chains of the Réquasud network as well as in the Bipea circular tests.
The Nematology Laboratory – Phytopathology
This laboratory deals with nematology problems in soils by microscopic determination of nematode infestation rates and has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of plant diseases for both farmers and individuals.
It enables agricultural and horticultural enterprises and all managers of green spaces to provide advice on the physicochemical improvement of the land as well as advice on the phytosanitary protection of cultivated plants, including methods of control by resorting to pest-tolerant organisms encountered.
